I am all for promoting being firmly rooted in the Now moment. I have learnt the importance of this and it has helped me to overcome anxiety. When we are stuck in the past or shoot too far ahead it can knock us out of balance. Yet if we only think of our current self this can lead to future self neglect and this can lead to all kinds of future issues for us.
When we are young we can be forgiven for not spending so much time thinking about our future selves.
We don't truly recognise the value of investing in our future, through present actions, when we are young. As we get older we look back and can often have regrets. I personally feel its time to teach our children just how important it is to not neglect our future selves, and to spend time investing in our future selves happiness and health as much as possible in the now. What we do now out of fear ,greed, haste or unconsciousness will impact how we live in the future, and impact the quality of life too! We are seeing examples of this in the World right now, and will continue to do so, until we fully grasp this lesson and change our ways.
What is Future self-neglect?
In regard to being in 3D /The 3rd Dimension, we can often be tricked into believing all focus has to be on who we are now. Yet we are multidimensional beings. We exist in multiple dimensions and exist simultaneously in the present ,the past and the future. This is how I am able to use quantum healing to go back in time and create healing that impacts the now moment and shifts future timelines. We have a present self, a past self and a future self.
If we are only focused on our present self we miss the opportunity to learn from our past self. And we can also neglect the needs of our future self. If we only think about instant gratification then we may put our future health in jeopardy. If we make unhealthy choices in the now, then our future self will have to deal with the consequences of this. If we make healthy choices and are conscious of the impact all choices will have on our future self, then our future self will benefit from those choices.
When I was dealing with extreme fatigue in the Winter months due to S.A.D ,it taught me to think ahead. When the winter months approached I would start preparing myself. I would juice turmeric root ,ginger root and lemon ahead of time and freeze it. I would meal prep and do all I could to make life easier for myself. I knew I would have very little energy so by preparing ahead of time, my future self would have all she needed to stay reasonably healthy, with very little effort needed. I had recognised that by doing these things when I did have energy it would greatly help in those future days when I would not have as much energy. I did things in the now moments that would help my future self, in future now moments.
The years I was not so prepared, I was neglecting the needs of my future self and only thinking of instant gratification and gains!
Why is it important to think about out Future self?
Thinking about the impact we have now on our future self helps to make life flow easier. It leads to cleaner energy. By taking action in the now we are able to stay rooted in the present through conscious action that will benefit our future self. We become less impulsive and learn to think things through before acting. We start checking in with our true motivation and drivers.
We become more grateful for life and all we currently have. Gratitude helps to shift our mindset and to begin to think more long-term this in tern leads to
successful outcomes and overall good health.
Why does Future Self Neglect happen?
Future self neglect happens due to our priority not being our on future selves needs or health/well being. The focus is on instant gain in the present. We need to get into the habit of questioning our motives and ask ourselves "will this positively impact my future self?"
How to stop Future Self Neglect
Doing something in each now moment that your future self will thank you for is a great way to stop future self neglect.
Present moment impulsive indulgence is so easy done and we are usually unconscious to the consequences of such indulgences. When we are more conscious and value ourselves and life more we pause to think things through first before taking action. Is it worth it in the long run? We start to pay more attention to how things affect us and will effect us in the future.
We basically need to break the habit of Instant gratification and shift the focus to long-term gains.
How to Create A Successful Future Self
We can hack into success for the future by forming healthy habits in the now. Its important to focus on four main areas to stimulate and create the most change for us.
Its best to focus on our personal emotions and emotional state, how to manipulate the brain connected to visuals, we need to use things that are sensory rich and also repetition is key to long lasting successful change.
Emotional - It is our nature as Humans to be motivated and activated by our emotions. Humans are by nature emotional creatures. Human emotions are the drivers of our behaviours. It is our emotions that will automatically tell us what is important or not so important. Our whole value system is made up of a hierarchy of emotionally based sensations that feed back to us what is of most importance. This is going on both consciously and unconsciously ,our emotions are always the main drivers to all we do.
Emotions are Energy in Motion -

Visual - If you can see it in the mind, you can see it in your reality! When we visualise an action, the same Brain regions are stimulated as when we physically perform an action. There is strong scientific basis to support how and why visualisation works. The Occipital lobe is responsible for visualisation and is located at the back of the head. This section occupies 20% of the Brains overall capacity. It is also responsible for vision and being able to visualise scenes never actually witnessed before. We can actually trick the mind to believe an unfamiliar goal is familiar to us even if it is something totally new to us!
Visualisation - Seeing goals as already complete in your mind's eye, is a core technique used by the World's most successful people. Visualisation is effective because it harnesses the power of our subconscious mind.
Visual proof its working - Due to the fact we gain confidence and feel motivated to keep going when we see it working its vital to keep showing yourself proof what you are doing is working. Keep looking back and seeing how far you have come each month. Celebrate even the smallest of successes.
Sensory Rich - In order to stay focused we need to keep ourselves engaged in what we are doing/creating/changing and the best way to do that is it keep all our senses stimulated as much as possible. If we can cater to our senses it
helps us stay stimulated and engaged. If you are changing your diet you are more likely to stick with it if it looks good ,smells good and tastes good ,and you have read or heard good things about it too!
Repetitive - I have found the best way to stick with something long term ,and not revert back or deviate off the new chosen path, is to be consistent and repetitive. That is why I build 33day programs, because I have learnt by staying with something new for this amount of time, it is a great way to form strong new neural pathways. We need to build up the muscle of self-discipline and form healthy daily habits.
Other Methods ~
Habit versus Discipline - Its very important to ditch the unhealthy habits and replace them with healthy daily habits. The thing is without self-discipline the healthy habit will most likely not be fully formed. We have to be disciplined and make time, create space, reserve energy, keep going every single day ,even when we want to give up! Its easy to give up ,it takes discipline and determination to stick with it every day, especially in the early stages of forming a new healthy habit ,transitioning out of an unhealthy one.
Self deprivation -I have learnt this is a great way to build self-confidence and mental strength and stamina. Popular ways of self-derivation are fasting /going without something for a period of time. Its also a great way to break a habit.

Rituals and Goals - keep the energy alive by doing daily rituals that keep you focused. Use visual stimulation for the brain and make it sensory rich to stay engaged daily.

Journal - to journal is a great way to gain awareness of patterns ,subconscious thoughts and ideas and to tack yourself on a daily basis.
You are able to note down and track your thoughts ,feelings , behaviours , changes, success and anything else that comes up.
So now you know how important it is to keep in mind your future self to have a successful life and how it all starts in the now moment you can stop neglecting your future self and correct and improve your current timeline.
