Awakening The Wise Woman

Definition of Wise...

The word wise most commonly means having or showing good judgment,

common sense,

and the ability to make smart decisions

based on life experience

and deep understanding.

Hi Beautiful Souls,

Have you ever asked your the question

"why am I only finding out about this now?"

Well I have, actually more than once!

Such as learning about boundaries in my mid thirties. Discovering the hard way the importance of them when raising a child.

And of course now knowing the importance of them in relationship with others in general. Which led to the huge epiphany of why so many painful and confusing things had happened in my life, as a consequence of having zero boundaries.

Or like finding out about generational, and ancestral trauma being a thing! And then learning about epigenetics and the huge part this plays in unconscious family patterns, unspoken laws and habitual behaviours.

And to name one more of many times, discovering we basically have 3 brains not just one. The brain, the heart and the gut(stomach). And how gut health impacts brain health, and brain health impacts heart health, and they intertwine and impact each other equally. All deeply connected in a tridirectional relationship.

The same thing happened recently when I was asked to look into perimenopause and menopause to support my YouTube subscribers.

It opened my eyes up to the huge fact women are being massively let down by the current medical system all over the World. And many more women have been programmed, or conditioned so to speak, to think themselves "less than" when they reach midlife.

Or "passed it"

Or undesirable, unattractive, or invisible!

I came to realise women collectively have essentially normalised living life carrying way too much stress, and holding onto way too much unprocessed trauma, and emotional charge. Often stuff that isn't even our own, its inherited!

As women reach midlife and the perimenopause phase of life, everything that has been pushed down deep, and / or ignored, starts making its way up to the surface.

What could be easily confused as a breakdown or "midlife crisis" is actually an invitation to find balance, and an invitation to find a deeper meaning to life. As well as to discover why you are here on Earth at this time.

It is also an invitation to let go off, and to shed all that no longer serves. And then to update the system.

The outdated version of self falls away, giving way to a more refined, more authentic, and more updated version of self. That is if we allow the process to take place, and don't fight it or pretend itvisnt happening!

This process is a returning to your own unique awareness, knowing, intuition and wisdom.

Think of it as going deeper into your own inner wisdom. Becoming richly and emotionally in tune with "All That Is". With the Divine. With The Great Creator. Becoming ever more sensitive as you tune into the bodies needs and the Souls calling.

Something not to be feared but to be embraced.

This is letting go of one way of being, to make way for a new way of being.

This is when a women enters the elder phase of life, as she begins to awaken the wise woman within her, to become a wisdom weaver.

This can be a time of huge spiritual evolution for a woman, a spiritual breakthrough for others, as they connect with their true voice and their inner wise woman.

The purpose of this transitional process for a woman is to come back into balance. To connect with, or reconnect with authenticity and absolute truth. As they learn, maybe for the first time ever how to respect their body, and discover the true wisdom of the human bodies intelligence.

This new way of being is a very important recalibration of the entire sysyem.

Awakening the Wise Woman, asks of women to form a completely different relationship with themselves.

This process activates every single aspect a woman.

Hormonal changes are only part of the whole story yet still equally important to learn about. The main hormone changes effected are with the hormones Estrogen, Progesterone, Testosterone and Oxytocin.

As the body changes in various ways, the Soul grows through the maturity of the mind, body and spirit.

This is more than just a hormal shift. This is a complete ovethaul of the whole system.

This recalibration or update of the system, then leads to a changed outlook on life.

Maybe even changes in priorities, values, beliefs, how she lives, how she loves, how she show up for herself and for others. Changes in relationships with herself, with others, with life and with nature.

Currently so many women find themselves at breaking point once they reach this milestone.

They feel uneducated, unsupported, not seen, not listened to, and even at times made to feel like all they are experiencing is made up, or exaggerated. Thats if they feel confident to speak up at all in the first place.

What if they were taught from a young age, that this stage of life, could create a profound breakthrough!

What if women were taught menopause actually creates an opening, or an opportunity to truly awaken great wisdom. That is not the end, it is more like a transitional phase to something very special and even beautiful!

What if menopause was a portal of transformation and an opportunity to discover primodial wisdom.

With the right support and education, woman don't need to suffer in silence, or be dismissed, or shamed!

My intention for all I am sharing about this stage of a womans life is to do just that. To educate and to offer support. As a woman myself, and a mother of a daughter so I am aware first hand how important this information is.

With knowledge comes power, and with the right information, we can make informed healthy decisions for ourselves.

Due to the fact I tend to work with clients who identify as empathic, highly sensitive, starseeds, or neurodivergent, I wanted to learn more about how this stage of life impacts this type of woman.

As this section of the human collective unfortunately is more likely to have experienced childhood trauma, this factor can make this stage of life even more of a challenge.

Childhood trauma can make perimenpause harder. A decline in estrogen levels distrupt stress hormones such as cortisol. This can then reactivate dormant nervous system responses, and worsen symptoms of perimenopuase and menopause.

Early childhood neglect can also distrupt the oxytocin system. This often leads to altered or lower levels of oxytocin production and processing.

Low oxytocin levels are heavily linked to a more pessimistic mindset. Reduced optimism is also linked, as well as an increased experience of depressive, or anxious thinking styles.

And something important to highlight, if you felt a lack of support as a child, growing up, or at any point in your life before this life stage, the ferling of not being supported, will more likely than not, be echoed during the perimenopause phase also. It will also trigger a collective deep wound, of a shared trauma, all woman you will also have inherited from birth.

This could be one explanation for the "righteous anger" or "sacred rage" many women speak of experiencing, during the perimenopause and menopause stages of life.

This energy is the perfect energy to fuel positive change and create a better reality on Earth. This is why so many women step and become activists as perimenopause and menopause gives them a fresh perspective or new insight. Or perhaps they now have the confidence to voice their true thoughts and feelings about social injustice as an example.

Brain pathways altered by early life stress can face extra strain from this stage of a womans life, due to the hormonal changes that take place. This in turn can lead to a higher risk of severe anxiety, depression, and also PTSD and CPTSD symptoms. Again showing us all that unresolved or healed childhood wounds can negatively influence how a woman navigates this stage of life.

This stage of a womans life asks of them to address what needs to be addressed. To look at what needs to be looked at. And to change what needs to be changed. What was once easy to stuff down, ignore, and pretend doesnt exist, is no longer able to be denied.

This stage of life also calls for a woman to no longer tolerate what is not healthy for her, aligned with her greatest good, or toxic for her. This can callung can lead to relationships and friendships ending, career or job changes, as new beliefs and mindsets are established.

As someone who has worked through my own fair share of childhood trauma, I highly encourage everyone to look into ways to support the younger parts of you, and do some inner child healing.

Trauma Healing needs to be not only encouraged but made accessible for those who need it the most. Something I am very passionate about, if you didn't already know.

Its never too late to start any healing journey, and for woman it just might make the midlife, to later life transitional stage of life, that little bit easier to navigate too!

I found myself EFT Tapping a great way to move through my own childhood, and early adult trauma. I also highly rate EMDR, Somatic exercises, Art therapy, Breathwork , and I also use a modality called The Compassion Key.

There is so much out there, and available, so there really is something for everyone. If you have tried some healing modalities and they didn't work for you, please don't get discouraged, keep giving things a decent chance, and I am sure you will find something that works for you and your needs.

Just a word of caution, if you do decide to work with someone when healing, or going through recovery, please, please choose carefully. Not everyone has your best interests at heart, or even have the correct know how, experience or knowledge to successfully, or safely support trauma healing or innerchild work. So please be careful, and pick wisely!

What if menopause was actually a highly intelligent evolutionary super power?

I recently learned that some Whales also go through menopause. Menopause is actually a very rare thing in the Animal kingdom to go through

In fact it has only ever been documented so far in humans , and 5 species of toothed Whales. The Orca (Killer Whale) , Short -Finned Pilot Whale, False Killer Whale, Narwhal, and Beluga Whale.

Species that go through menopause live for longer generally. Female whales that go through menopause can live around 40 years longer than similar sized Whales, that do not go through menopause. Yet their reproductive lifespan is about the same.

This allows the older mothers to avoid competing with their own daughters for food, and resources.

The next bit I want to share with you I think is something we as a humanity can learn so much from. Older females carry ecological wisdom inside them, in the form of lifetimes of accumulated knowledge.

This knowledge guides the pod to know where and when to find food. This precious and important leadership is so valuable during difficult years, such as when there is a lack of salmon, or other key resources.

Post reproductive females use their extra decades to help with sharing food, babysitting, guiding pods through hard times, as well as overall help and support in the survival rates of their grandchildren.

Being a female elder is highly valued!

They are greatly respected and their wisdom is vital to the pods success and survival as a whole.

These Whales rather than suffering physical decline, like humans currently do when going through menopause, will use this stage of life to benefit their whole family.

When these Whales go through menopause it is a physiological and an evolutionary transition. Marked by the specific biological signs of menopause.

These Whales teach us that this is, believe it or not, in truth an incredible milestone to reach. One that can be bursting full of possibility.

This actually can be seen as the start of a new chapter, not the end of the road.

Or think of it as the beginning of a brand new version of you!

Here is one of my poems that you might like to listen to...

It speaks about the majestic spiritual power these wisdom weavers hold.

Orca
