How to Deal with a Forced Cost of Living Crisis ~ Sanitation
Sanitation & Cleanliness
The situation -
Sanitation generally means anything to do with the provision of facilities and services to dispose of human excrement and urine.
It also refers to the maintenance of hygienic conditions via services like the refuge service and wastewater disposal, as well as drainage systems for rainwater.
Poor hygienic conditions cause Worldwide 2.2 million annual deaths, and these are mostly children under 5 years of age.
A lack of sanitation would include a lack of hygienic toilets, maintenance,
lack of refuge collection and wastewater disposal services.
This leads to serious issues and is already affecting parts of the World not only the developing countries but places a little closer to home too.
Certain diseases can be transmitted through human waste. It is also estimated that up to 5 million people die each year from preventable waterborne diseases as a result of inadequate sanitation and hygiene practices.
Bin collectors in the UK have already begun strikes, so more waste will be on the streets. This will encourage vermin closer to our homes. With dirty streets, rotting food waste and dirty nappies left for weeks on end more illnesses and diseases will appear as a result.
Here is a list of diseases that apparently could be reduced if proper sanitation and hygiene practices are in place around the World.
Anaemia, malnutrition
Ascariasis (a type of worm infection)
Campylobacteriosis
Cholera
Cyanobacteria toxins
Dengue
Hepatitis
Japanese encephalitis (JE)
Leptospirosis
Malaria
Ringworm or Tinea (a type of intestinal worm infection)
Scabies
Schistosomiasis
Trachoma
Typhoid and paratyphoid
Polio is another disease that has been linked to insufficient sanitation and hygiene practices. (Sourced from W.H.O)
Wherever there are humans there is also waste. Waste also can accumulate and needs to be taking care of frequently and appropriately.
Many heavily populated areas do not have adequate ways of disposing of waste. This carries huge risks including health risks.
The most vulnerable in society are prone to these health risks at a higher rate due to lower resistance and weakened immune systems.
Waste can also contaminate rivers and other waters. This is not only a huge problem for humans but all life forms. Other species become infected and sick, threatening the whole ecological balance of the environment.
Energetics -
What we are seeing is a reflection to the amount of disrespect we have allowed to happen on Earth. Humanity must improve and we must learn to live and work together to create long lasting positive change.
Cleanliness is thought of as a sign of spiritual growth. Keeping everything clean is a way of showing that you care about yourself and your local environment, including your home and community location.
It is a sign of self-respect and respect for your surroundings.
Cleanliness and being tidy can lead to purity of mind, body, and spirit. It can also preserve good health, making sure diseases remain kept at bay.
It is important to be mindful of how and where we discard domestic waste.
Cleanliness shows respect for the World we live in, others and for ourselves.
Clean habits and respect help us to feel good and attract good feelings towards us.
We also attract others who are polite, respectful, and healthy. We work with the natural eco system to conserve and protect, rather than cause harm and imbalance through ignorance and disrespect.
Healing -
This is a perfect opportunity to regain balance as a society and a Humanity. To heal disrespect and clean up our relationship with the Earth we live on.
Self-enquiry -
What is one thing you can do from today to clean up?
This could be connected to yourself, your mental health, spiritual heal, energetic health, your home, your community, nature, the World.
Pick one thing and create a healthy habit to maintain this cleanliness moving forward.
If we all make at least one change at a time, each little change will make an enormous difference.
Affirmations –
I am open to radical purification and transformation to take place through my being for the benefit of All
